Battlestar Cadillactica
Oct. 14th, 2001 10:00 pmOn Saturday evening, Cyn and I went to see a friend's band, Battlestar Cadillactica at The Globe. I figured since there were three bands playing that night, the first would start before 10:00. Nope. We got there early, and it turned out to be really early. The second band, Quark Quintet, was holding their debut performance. They had asked Battlestar to headline for them, but since they booked the show, they took the best time slot, and didn't worry when they ran overtime. They took an extra twenty minutes to set up, and still played their entire 1:15 set. This left Battlestar only thirty minutes for their headlining set. Mike, the drummer, was pissed. He was hot. He had way too much angry energy to be used up during their short set. My friend Jeff, was rather more pragmatic about it. He's an easygoing guy. He was mad, but he didn't really show it much. He has little respect for that band, but, as he said, "anger is irrelevant."
