I have a "free" ticket voucher ($10, two drink minimum) with no band name on it, but I penciled "Rev" on the back, so I can only assume this was The Reverend Horton Heat. They rock.

The band's official site has a listing of past tour dates, and it show Milwaukee on December 2nd. It also lists the Flat Duo Jets and the rockabilly/swing Amazing Crowns as openers. I had forgotten, but now that rings a bell with the Crowns. No idea if I saw the other, but probably.
A three-band lineup in The Eagles Ballroom - The Butthole surfers, the Toadies and the Reverend Horton Heat. I was a fan of both the Toadies, and the Rev. My friend Joe wanted to see the Butthole Surfers. We both went. As I recall, we found some seats upstairs, and Joe slept through the first band. Then I went downstairs for the Toadies, while Joe slept through them. I was rockin out in the back. Another one of those hard rock shows where I was one of the few dancing. Then I went back upstairs. Fortunately for Joe, the Butthole Surfers played their big hit, "Pepper", first, and we left during the third song. Joe was tired. Something about being up at dawn. At least one of us had a good time.
